ARAGON GP – CORSI BACK IN Q2
Qualifying day on Aragon’s MotorLand, during day-2 of the Spain GP. In a cooler day overall (24° C perceived on track), MV Agusta Forward Racing team reached Q2 with Simone Corsi, in constant growth after Friday’s FP2. During the 3rd free practice session, the rider from Rome developed the right set-up in order to try the time attack during Q1. And that was the best strategy possible for Corsi and his team: 1’52.736, over 1” lower than FP3 and qualification in Q2 guaranteed. The Fiamme Oro standard-bearer, who will start tomorrow’s race from 6th row, has very good memories on this Spanish track: 5th and 7th position respectively in 2010’s and 2012’s editions, with a podium (3rd position) in 2011. The goal, this year, will be getting closer to the Top 10 and emulate the 7th position of Team Forward’s Baldassarri in 2016. At the other side of the box, Stefano Manzi didn’t low his good FP3 crono (1’53.114). He came very close on a direct qualification in Q2 during FP3 (out for 36 tenth of a second), tomorrow he’ll start from 8th row. The team will study all the data and will prepare a comeback plan, that is absolutely possible for Manzi and his F2. Race day will start at 10:30 AM with Warm Up, starting line at 1:20 PM.
