Dopo i tre turni di prove libere gestiti in modo costruttivo per il Team MV Agusta Forward, è tempo di qualifiche, nel caldo pomeriggio francese, per Simone Corsi e Marcos Ramirez.
Ramirez ha conquistato l’accesso diretto in Q2 chiudendo undicesimo nella classifica combinata dei tre turni di libere di venerdì e sabato. Lo spagnolo ha registrato un miglior tempo in qualifica di 1.36.743, nonostante il suo Ideal Time fosse di 1’36:200, che gli sarebbe valsa la settima posizione. Marcos partirà domani dalla quinta fila sulla griglia di partenza del Bugatti Circuit.
Corsi, dall’altro lato del box, ha lavorato sulla messa a punto nella giornata di venerdì, cercando di ritrovare il feeling con la sua MV Agusta F2. Il passaggio obbligatorio dalla Q1 lo ha visto registrare un best lap di 1’36:471 che gli sarebbe valso, nell’ ipotetica Q2, l’undicesimo posto in schieramento. Simone partirà domani dalla settima fila, pronto per una gara tutta in rimonta.
I semafori si spegneranno domani alle ore 12.20 per la gara di Moto2, preceduti dal Warm Up alle ore 09.20.

After the three free practice sessions managed constructively for Team MV Agusta Forward, it’s qualifying time on the hot French afternoon for Simone Corsi and Marcos Ramirez. Ramirez gained direct access to Q2 by finishing 11th in the combined standings of the three free practice sessions on Friday and Saturday. The Spaniard recorded a best qualifying time of 1.36.743, despite his Ideal Time of 1'36:200, which would have earned him seventh position. Marcos will start tomorrow from the fifth row on the Bugatti Circuit grid. Corsi, on the other side of the box, worked on set-up on Friday, trying to regain feeling with his MV Agusta F2. The mandatory passage from Q1 saw him record a best lap of 1'36:471, which would have earned him, in the 'hypothetical Q2, the eleventh place on the grid. Simone will start tomorrow from the seventh row, ready for a comeback race. The lights will go out tomorrow at 12:20 for the Moto2 race, preceded by the Warm Up at 09:20.
“Speravo di fare un po' meglio in qualifica, di fare il mio ideal time e stare più davanti, purtroppo però ho trovato un po’ di traffico in pista e non mi sono migliorato molto. Darò il massimo per fare sempre meglio. Siamo pronti per la gara di domani sperando che non piova. Spero di riuscire a tenere un buon ritmo per tutta la gara e chiudere in Top10”.
"I was hoping to do a little better in qualifying, to do my ideal time and be more in front, but unfortunately I found some traffic on the track and didn't improve much. I will give my best to do better and better. We are ready for tomorrow's race hoping that it won't rain. I hope I can keep a good pace throughout the race and finish in the Top10".
“Sono contento del progresso fatto da questa mattina, e devo dire che il feeling in generale è migliorato molto. L’obbiettivo ovviamente era quello di passare in Q2, anche se purtroppo non ci siamo riusciti. Per domani vedremo di fare una buona partenza e recuperare il maggior numero di posizioni possibili”.
