THE MV AGUSTA IDEALAVORO FORWARD RACING TEAM STILL POINTS UN THE FIRST EUROPEAN RACE
The fourth race of the season of the Moto2 World Championship saw the team MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward Racing win additional points for season 2019 on the circuit of Jerez de la Frontera. The first European race for the Italian-Swiss racing team therefore comes to a positive end.
It was a shorter race, only 15 laps, instead of the 23 expected, following the red flag on the first lap that also determined the quick restart .
Dominique Aegerter, starting from the 23rd position on the grid, managed to recover 6 positions on the first lap. Continuing to lead a race all in comeback, with a constant pace that allowed him to make several overtakes and to move to 13th position at the finish line, placement that allowed him to win, for him and the team, three more points in the overall standings.
Stefano Manzi in his return on the bike after his injury in Argentina, led his Mv Agusta in 21st position.
Great emotion the one experienced today, a sign that the team has finally taken the right path to bring up the renowned brand Varese. Now the next appointment is for Tuesday in this same track for further testing in view of the next race of the Moto2 World Championship scheduled for the weekend of May 19 at the circuit of Le Mans in France.

“It was a shorter race than expected, only 15 laps to go: I made a good start, around the twentieth position there was batte with other riders with whom I also had some contacts. I have to say that the bike has improved a lot, I drove well and I felt at ease on the bike and I also managed to do several fast laps. For me it would have been better to have a longer race to have a little more time to recover. I am happy to have overtaken some good riders and that is a good sign. I thank the team, MV Agusta and the sponsors, I’m happy to celebrate these three points with them. Now we look forward to the test on Tuesday, we have a lot to try in view of the next race at Le Mans. Now we have 5 points in the championship and this is good for this young project that is going in the right direction”.

“I am happy with this result obtained just at the fourth race of this great project. After the points gained in Texas, with Dominique, we were able to confirm that we are there; the direction is the right one. Even Stefano, despite his return from injury he managed to do a great job, we are constantly working for the development of this bike even if his position at the end of the race is not what we expected. I’m happy because this constant work brings important points. I thank all the guys for putting their heart into this ambitious challenge every day and all our partners who support us. Now we remain focused because the road is still long and there are still many kilometers to go”.
